Belly sleeping
So, basically it has been drilled into our brains that if we let our baby's sleep on their bellies they will die of SIDS. What if your kid likes to sleep on his belly? What if when you lay him down, on his back, in his crib and come back to find him asleep on his belly? Do you leave him there? If I let him roll over to his belly he'll fall asleep on his own. No help from mom. No drama. Now I walk into his room every 15 minutes to watch him breathe.

I happened upon your blog while googling for info about using Fels Naptha on cloth diapers that have cotton innards but fleece o'er the top. I am so delighted to read your thoughts and see pics. This blogging world is quite interesting for that type of connection.
Anyway, the leg-less high chair you found is EXACTLY what we want to get a few months down the road when our baby is old enough. It's what my family had growing up. I resonated with that post a lot; my hubby and I searched high and low to find an older wind-up swing. You know, the crank style that doesn't require batteries or electric power. We found one on ebay for 99 cents that no one else bid on. Yes, it cost $17 for shipping, but hey.
But oh! The belly sleeping thing. I haven't any answers, but we too let our baby sleep on her belly sometimes, especially if she's in bed with us, and I go back and forth between guilt over it and relief that she's sleeping well. I figure the belly sleeping is a risk enhancer, but co-sleeping (which we do part of the night) is a risk reducer for SIDS, so we're even.
Anyway, that's enough of a comment from a random stranger, I'm sure.
Take care.
